My Family

Last Sunday Maria, Jake and all her family came over and we here able to get our family pitchers taken. We were not sure it would happen because Wendi's dad had died from cancer on Saturday and we didn't know if she would be up to it. I guess she needed to get out so her and Ben made it out (grandma and grandpa were watching the kids at the time). Today we went to the funeral to support Wendi and Ben, it was a beautiful service and it was a comfort to have a reminder that we can be together forever and that is world is not the end and we will see our loved ones that have passed before us. I am thankful for this knowledge and for my family.

What a day

Today started out like any other day, I went to work answered the phones but around 3:00PM it all went honorably wrong. OK pitcher this, my mom comes over to the office to store some Christmas gifts so we start to take them into the back shop which has a separate door from the main shop, as we walk through that door it slams shut behind us and we find that it is locked and the only way out of that room is into the yard. If you ever been there you will know that the yard of the office is surrounded by tall fences with barbed wire on the top. So there we are locked in the back with out a phone and no way to get out. After a while of yelling, ( and laughing I have to admit) trying to get the attention of our neighbors and moaning every time the phone range we knew that the only way out of there if no one came was to try to climb the fence (yea the one with the barbed wire) there's this one section by the gate (which is pad locked by the way) that it might be possible to climb over if your not afraid of falling and braking every bone in your body which is the though that ran through my head as I stood (it was really a crouch) on the top bar (yes that top bar in the pitcher) and looked over the fence and tried to get the nerve up to try to climb down the fence which had plastic covers run through the links. As I was up there contemplating my early demise someone pulled up to the business across the street, we were able to get her attention and she went through the office (which the front door was wide open taunting us) and open the shop door. After a lot of thanks yous and laughter we were no long prisoners in our own back yard. So THANK YOU kind stranger and never go any were without your keys and a cell phone.

A new one has bite the blogger dust

Last night Julie (my sister - in - law) finally caved under pressure and started a blog. She came over today and I showed her a few things but if you look at her blog you can see that she has taken off on the whole blogger experience. Julie does the most amazing scrape books so I knew that she would be good at this. I told her it was like scape booking but on the computer. Julie welcome to the blogger family and I cant wait to see what you do with it.

Tale of the TV

Today when I got to work low and behold there was a television on the front porch. It looked like someone had had a little party right there in front of our building. I called all the guys to see if anyone know about it but it still stayed a mystery. So I called the police department just in case the thing was stolen they sent an officer out to pick it up and away it went to its new home at the Apache Junction Police Department.

Fall Is Hard To Do

On Saturday evening I went with my mom and sister - in - law Julie to pick up my grandma so we could all go to Deseret Book, I guess they have this huge sale and door prizes during presthood meeting. As we were coming out of my grandma's town house they have about four really steep steps and I wasn't watching were I was going and took a tumble down them. I landed on my left side and couldn't move for a while. As the night wour on I just kept getting more stiff and sore, by Sunday I could baring move. I am feeling a little bit better today but I"m still sore and my left hip and ankle ack but all in all I'm pretty lucky that I didn't brake something. So if you ever find yourself on a porch and you think you have enough room around you take my advice turn around before you move don't step backwardes.

I Know

I'm a terrible blogger, they have become few and far between. My life is just the same as always, it seems like nothing ever changes. It is nice having Maria and Jake living so close now even though we see each other the same amount as when they lived 45 min. away. They did come over to my house on Monday for labor day and we had hamburgers and played some games with Laura, Aubrey, Lyle and Katie which was a fun way to spend the day. My family is doing well though business is slow and we don't really have anything to do, so the guys are building an addition onto our shop to raise the market valve on it, always thinking ahead. We half joke with each other about getting seconds jobs, but if thing don't start picking up we just might have to. Lets say we cant wait for the winter visitors to come back and for this election to be over so people will stop hording their money and thinking they can live with that leak or that slow drain. We've survived slow time before and I'm sure we will again it's just nerve racking as its happening. We just cross our fingers and say our prayers and everything usually turns out fine, sometimes with unexpected blessings.

4th. of July

Sorry it's been so long since my last blog. Nothing new has really happened to me. This year for the 4th my family went to go see Kung Fu Panda it was so funny even my dad laughed through it and if you know my dad he hates cartoons. Later on in the evening we all met at our office building for hot dogs, fireworks and one major water fight. We all got soaking wet but it was a lot of fun. We are able to see fireworks from the office so we don't have to fight any crowds. Its a nice way to do it.

Hal To The Concerning Hero

I did it, I gritted my teeth after a nights rest and of letting my brain de-numb and I concerned my all time enemy, doing something new on the computer. In my last blog if you'll recall the trouble I was having downloading audio books onto my new ipod and how I had finally figured it out, then when I tried it on a different computer it wouldn't work. Well today I opened every file, all the little extra technical things you can open to the files, but only geeks really knows what they do, look in HELP under every key word I could think of and I finally found that one little box that had to be unchecked to make it all work. Of course I had to do my little technology victory dance it was that great of a feeling. It might of taken around 10 hrs in 2 day to do it but I did it. I only have one more thing to say YAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

IPod Troubles

Today I bought a new ipod its a 80 GB classic. I got it because I love audio books and I wanted to have them all in one place for convenience so I fooled around on my dads ipod to see if I could get an audio book that I already had to download. Six hours later after I typed all the info for all of the disks I finally figured out how to get my audio books into the audio book folder on the ipod. Let me tell you its crazy all the things you have to change to get it to do that. But I finally figured it all out. So there I was all jazzed about getting started downloading all my audio books onto my new ipod. I put in the first disk (on a different computer of course) and everything is going great till the very end. I go to do the last thing and its not there so of course I cant convert all that info to go into the audio book section it will only stay in the music section and if you have music in there and try to play it every couple of songs you get a section of the book so that really doesn't work. I don't know what I'm going to do. Hopefully I can figure it out tomorrow, if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

YaYaYa

Tonight Jake was complaining that I haven't done a new blog in a while. Sorry folks but nothing new has happened lately. I did go out to dinner with Jake & Maria and some friends tonight and that was really fun. Then we went bowling but half of our group flaked out at the last minuet but that's OK it was still a blast. I got a score of 61 lets just say I'm not a bowler. Jake got a 106, Maria got a 79 and Miles (Jake's friend) got a 145 (I think those are the right scores).

Ships Ahoy

A couple of years ago my mom bought my dad a canoe for Christmas. Ever since he has been complaining that he's never been able to take it out because he's been to busy. Well a couple of months ago we had a heavy rain, and when ever that happens this large hole in the back of our office always fills with water. So one day I told him that he should take his canoe out on that. So that's what he did, Cameron was at the office at the time so Grandpa took him out for a ride. The water was only about a foot deep and they kept getting stuck.

Easter Madness

This Easter my family decided it would be fun to have Easter at my house. Then we found out that tons of our extended family would be down so our small gathering of 17 turned into about 48 people. It was fun though, we just put painters plastic down and set up tables in my empty front room. Then we went to a near by park to hide eggs. There were eggs everywhere because everyone brought eggs so we had around two hundred. We were just throwing them in the grass, it was one colorful site. When the kids showed up and saw all those eggs it was like a tide of yapping chihuahuas were descending upon us. Scary but fun, I think everyone had a good time. The good news is that my house survived, if it can handle that it can handle anything.

Hard Ground

This weekend I decided to plant some rose bushes in my new back yard. I got six bushes in different colors and sizes. I think my house was built on a river bed. There are so many rocks in that ground that I couldn't even use a shovel I had to use one of those hand gardening shovels. It took over an hour for each hole, but I did get them all in so ya for me. It made my hands and arms so sore I'm chicken peck'n it right now. I'm going to have to come up with something else to finish planting things in my yard. Dose anyone have any ideas or know of a tool that might help please let me know.

Birthday Madness

Well today my dad has turned 56 yrs old. We're having a party tonight to celebrate this once in a lifetime event. The end of February and into March is when we have a perlethera of birthdays. Six of them at last count, we all gain 10 lbs because of the cake and ice cream that is consumed during this time. For these 4 weeks my whole family will be walking around in a sugar coma and if we're lucky by the time its done no one will have had to get their stomach pumped. Kids will be running up and down the walls screaming, parents will be yelling, Dad and Mom will be watching it all with joy because at the end of the night everyone goes home. Then there's me looking on in silence half wishing I didn't have to go home alone and the other half raises my hands in halalua that I get to go home alone without the ear popping noise makers that are my nieces and nephews.
I love them all but let me tell you those kiddies have some lugs on them. Only three more weeks to go till the birthday swarm passes, lets all pray that everyone makes it out in tacked.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to meeeee, Happy Birthday to me. And to Lisa and to Kelsie.

Saturday, February 23, 2008

Well I had my date tonight, he was really nice but I couldn't think of anything to say after I asked all the standered questions. He didn't ask me anything and all he talked about (for 3 hours) was his druggie ex - wife (he's only been divorced for 3 weeks) and what horrible mission companions he had. It was kinda depressing, but hey I met someone new and theres nothing bad about that.

Blind Date Queen

OK I confess, my dating life is pretty sad. I am almost 28 and I've gone on a total of 8 dates. All different guys and only two of them I knew.

There was the one who said he felt like he was hanging out with the guys.

The one who spent the whole time texting his "bros"

The one who wouldn't talk or look at me the whole time.

And the list goes on, but don't feel sorry for me (OK only a Little) I've learned to laugh at the ones I can and forget the others. A little advice for those who find themselves in the same position. Go with a group of friends, they can make a potential boring evening into something fun. To tell you the truth I don't mind going out on blind dates they can be fun (just not with some of the dates) but I keep an open mind and if he doesn't have fun why shouldn't I? Well this Friday night date number 9 is going to take place. Maria and Jake (whom I Love) set it up and are going along for the ride. There will be a bonfire, cooking and hopefully a whole lot of laughs. Who knows this could turn into a really good friend or into something more only time will tell.

President Hinkley

I just finnished watching the funeral of President Gorden B. Hinkley. It was a moving and heart touching service. I was reminded of what a kind and wonderful man he was and his scence of humor that always made watching him speak such a treat. It warms my heart to think of him being back together with his sweet wife. If you didn't get a chance to watch it I would recomend that you fine a copy and do.

Ah the New Year

Sorry its been so long since my last blog. The holidays went great, I had a New Years Eve party at my house then I slept all the next day cause I was still fighting my cold which I still fought for another week. I also in that time fell and sprained my ankle, which is not better so I'm going to the doctors on Monday. Hopefully the next time you see me I won't be hobblin around in a cast or something, keep your fingers crossed. Well enough complaining, good news we just found out that James and Treana are having another girl, Ya girl power. Boys - 8, Girls - 10 ( I just love that ) See ya all later, unless your going to the movie dinner show this afternoon in that case I see you in a couple of hours.
